J.W. Worlaby Club fundraises £1,000 thanks to Lincs Lotto players
21 August 2019
Worlaby-based community group, The J.W. Club, has raised £1,000 thanks to players of Lincs Lotto.
The club was set up by Pam and Richard Beeforth in 2014. They had an idea to run community events and activities for local residents, many of whom are elderly- “we’ve always been very community-minded, and we thought we’d start off by just running a community night for local people.”
The Club was originally named after Jim Wilson, who supported the build of Worlaby’s village hall. Since 2014 the club has gone from strength to strength, and now runs monthly themed events and has over 110 regular members attending the club.
“The money raised through Lincs Lotto has helped us buy a new sound system, piano, and pay to put on special themed nights for our members”, says Pam. “We absolutely love it and so do all our members- thank you to everyone who has supported us.”
The club’s committee is hoping to continue fundraising to be able to take club members for trips away and days out. You can support them here: https://www.lincslotto.co.uk/support/worlaby-jw-club
